SamSketches: A 2016 Calendar

For the third year running, there will be a SamSketches calendar. It is my hope for this third year that it will be gracing even more homes than its predecessors. The pieces selected, for the most part (not going to lie and say every single one), were done so with a special meaning behind each monthContinue reading “SamSketches: A 2016 Calendar”

Getting ready to “Paint the Great South Bay”

Amidst the several other projects/goals I have set for myself this month and going forward into fall, I signed up to participate in an event taking place this week that will be a new experience for me. I am half excited, half nervous to be one of a number of artists painting the Great South Bay “enContinue reading “Getting ready to “Paint the Great South Bay””

SamSketches: A 2015 Calendar

Now Available It was last year around this time, that I came up with a Christmas gift idea for my older sister, Sylvia.  After a fun filled evening (as usual) with her in which we joked about how horrible she is with remembering dates, I decided to create for her a personalized calendar to supply herContinue reading “SamSketches: A 2015 Calendar”

Tis the season to be jolly

Tis the season to be jolly Fa la la la la.  la la.  la.  la.   (I sang it in my head a few times, the la’s should be accurate) For the past few years, I have sent a SamSketches holiday card to family and friends.  I started this because I remember watching for theContinue reading “Tis the season to be jolly”

Last weekend, I took a stroll with a couple of friends into Long Island City.  The destination we were aiming for was located on Jackson Avenue, in the heart of the Court Square district and opposite MoMA PS1.  As we got closer and were right outside the gate to where we intended to be, aContinue reading “Court Square Flea Marketing”

Hung Up.

2014 continues to be the year of new experiences and checkpoints reached.  I am going to be sad in a few months when it comes to a close, but excited for all the possibilities that 2015 will have in store for me.   Most recently, I sent out an application via email with some jpegsContinue reading “Hung Up.”

Available. Illustrated & Alliterated: An Alphabet Book

Well, well, well, what do we have here? Oh, just my latest book now available in paperback via Amazon, and available as an ebook at the iBookstore via iTunes — no biggie. You should really click the images and visit the pages… purely just a suggestion of course.  [do. it.]

The book is done, the book is done! …. and now we sit and wait.

My latest project is complete — Illustrated & Alliterated: An Alphabet Book. As you can imagine it contains, illustrations and alliterations. Twenty-six of them exactly. During the process of creating the alliteration I had to substitute commonly used adjectives (and other word types, but mostly adjectives) with adjectives not used as much in the everyday for the sake ofContinue reading “The book is done, the book is done! …. and now we sit and wait.”

#SamSketches: a coloring book

Most of the digital work I do is used for, well, digital media and it is not often that I get to see what the art looks like on paper.  It is even rarer that I get the opportunity to see an abundant amount of it all printed together, side-by-side.  And so last night, whenContinue reading “#SamSketches: a coloring book”
